Group Raises Awareness against Female Genital Mutilation

03/Jul/2019, Yinka Kolawole in Osogbo The Society for Life Changers and Good Parental Care (SOLIFE) has charged stakeholders in Osun State to beef up campaign against Female Genital Mutilation, (FGM) with the creation of community awareness to eradicate the practice. The Chairman, Board of Trustee, SOLIFE, Mr Aremu Stephen, who disclosed this at the opening ceremony of a three-day Camp Project for community based organisations and women groups in Osun State recently, said the rating of the state as number one on the hierarchy of the six FGM most endemic states was disturbing. He said: “Championing the intensive advocacy against female circumcision through the Camp Project meeting is to sensitise the people of the state on the dangers and disadvantages of FGM and to discourage the practice made paramount, based on the health risk associated with the practice, as well as the pattern and trend of medicalisation.” At the program funded by Positive Action for Girls and Women, Aremu de

NASA’s Mars helicopter almost ready to launch

NASA’s Mars helicopter has successfully passed several key tests meaning it’s close to getting final approval. In 2021, the autonomous helicopter will be the first vehicle in history to power flight in the tenuous Martian environment. According to NASA, the 4lb (1.8kg) helicopter will soar above Mars in a series of demonstration tests. It will launch next summer in the belly of the Mars 2020 rover, landing on the Red Planet in February 2021. The rover will look for signs of life on the planet and return samples back to Earth while the goal of the helicopter is to hover above to give scientists insight into the Martian surface. The system needs to go through these tests because the Red Planet's air is just 1% as dense as that of Earth. Mars has a third less gravity and 99 per cent less air than Earth so the team suggest that it’s like flying it at 100,000 feet, even though initially it will only go 9 feet (3 metres) in the air. "Nobody's built a Mars helicopter bef

7 Things She Craves in Bed That You May Not Have Considered

1. Ask her what she likes If you're a woman, being asked what you want is not a common question.  It can often be unnerving. Tell your partner you want to make her feel good and that if she’s unsure what she likes, you’re willing to experiment. If she knows what she likes, do what she says. A woman’s sexual pleasure is regularly put second to her partner’s, so having the focus shifted entirely to her desires is an enormous turn-on. Who doesn’t love being pleased? She craves being the center of attention, she’s just not always sure how to ask for it. 2. Listen to her body Pay attention to physical cues. Don’t just do one thing you’re into and forget to pay attention to your partner’s response. Here’s an example: If you’re going down on her and she’s pushing her hips into your face, moaning, yeah, you can be pretty sure what you’re doing is working. If she pulls away or says,  “Ouch!”  try something else, ask her what she wants, or be more gentle. A woman’s body is a beautif

Six things you shouldn’t do while charging your phone

Many phone users tend to complain that their device’s batteries discharge quickly. They also typically blame the product manufacturer for this issue; however, the manufacturer isn’t always at fault. Here are some five mistakes that users typically make when charging their phones. Waiting for the Battery to reach low levels before charging Avoid waiting for your battery to reach a critically low level before charging. The effect of this on your phone battery is not immediate, but over time it begins to manifest and it eventually stresses out your phone battery (yes, batteries get stressed too) and shortens the battery life. Think of your battery as a human body, you really don’t need to wait until you’re about to die before you rest and eat to recharge yourself. Keeping your phone case on while charging Your phone typically emits heat when charging. To avoid exposing your device to ambient temperatures, it’s advisable to remove the phone case while charging your phone so that the
